About Me
I have examined Honours, MA and PhD levels, with many years of experience. Brief Biography A/Prof Paul Uhlmann Paul Uhlmann is Course Coordinator of Visual Arts, in the School of Arts and Humanities, Edith Cowan University in Perth and is a practicing artist who works in painting, printmaking and artists books. He has extensive experience as a researcher, artist, and lecturer. Paul has supervised 9 PhD [5] + MA [4] candidates to completion. He has a practice-led research PhD which focused on painting and installation informed by concepts of interconnectedness through the philosophy of Spinoza and the German Romantics. He has published on artist’s books, creative process and embodiment national and international. He studied art in Australia, and Europe - was the recipient of a DAAD scholarship to study in Germany (1986-87); an Australia Council studio residency grant to study frescos in Italy (1994) and an International Samstag Scholarship to study in the Netherlands (1994-95). He has exhibited nationally and internationally since 1983 and his work is held in many collections including; National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of NSW, Art Gallery of WA and National Gallery of Victoria. He is currently a CI on an ARC project, Mobilising Dutch East India Company collections for new global stories , Australian Research Council, Grant - Linkage (Projects), 2023 ‑ 2026, $26,252.
